Terms Entered in Search
A name, location, or other term entered in a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Forrest County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider processes the query under its own privacy practices.
Messages Sent to Us
When you email us or use a contact form, we retain the message and reply information as needed to answer. We do not share those messages outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law, such as in response to a valid legal order.
Information Collected Automatically
Routine technical records may be created when a page loads. They help operate and protect the service and show broad usage patterns.
- The network IP address associated with the request
- Browser name, browser type, and version
- Device class and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied

Links may lead to Forrest County release records, Sheriff and jail resources, MDOC systems, federal BOP or ICE locators, court portals, and third-party search tools. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy policy governs its collection and use of information. We do not control that destination's practices.
Advertising partners may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That processing occurs on partner systems rather than within our own records.

We use standard administrative and technical safeguards suited to a public website. No internet-connected service, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that data will never be intercepted, lost, or accessed without permission.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.

These choices do not control records held by Forrest County, MDOC, courts, BOP, ICE, or a third-party search partner. Direct a request about government records to the office that maintains them.

We may revise this Privacy Notice as services, legal duties, or data practices change. The updated version will be posted at this location with a new effective date, and continued use after posting is subject to the revised notice.
