Forrest Release Mugshot Channels
Photo sources cover different custody systems. The official current-inmate route does not establish a released-person archive. A booking-specific request reaches the county file. MDOC shows an offender image for a state record, while VINE imagery varies and should not be promised.
| Channel | Has a photo? | Access |
|---|---|---|
| Current Sheriff roster | Not verified as a released archive | Current-only roster route |
| County booking file | Request the maintained image | Sheriff public-records process |
| Official sheriff app | None verified | Do not substitute an unverified app |
| MDOC record | Yes for applicable state offenders | MDOC inmate detail |
| VINELink | Varies by supplied record | Do not promise image availability |
| News or agency post | Sometimes | Use only as dated publication context |
Third-party sites may cache stale images, omit dispositions, misidentify people, or seek payment. They are not authoritative release sources. No commercial mugshot publisher or removal service is recommended or linked.
Note: Match the source and booking before using a photo because county, MDOC, VINE, and news images have different record origins.
Request a Forrest Booking Photo
Address the request to the Sheriff's Office or Adult Detention Center records custodian. Identify one booking with the full name, booking number, and approximate date. Ask for the original electronic booking photograph when public, along with the booking sheet and release entry if those records are needed to place the image in context.
- Confirm the person's full name and the correct booking episode.
- Include the booking number and approximate booking date.
- Request the booking photograph in its original electronic form.
- Ask for the release-log entry and disposition fields for context.
- Request an itemized estimate before chargeable work.
- Ask for the exemption citation and separable public parts if material is withheld.
Use the FCSO public-records channel. The published policy lists copy and labor costs, while emailed files under its stated size threshold may have no charge. Verify the current estimate before payment. Do not request a mass gallery when one identified record answers the question.
Forrest Mugshot Request Costs
Forrest County did not publish a fixed booking-photograph fee in the reviewed sources. The Sheriff's general public-records policy does publish cost categories. It lists $0.15 per black-and-white page, $0.25 per color page, and the actual cost of the lowest-qualified employee needed for search, review, or redaction. Work under 15 minutes may be waived under the policy.
An emailed file under 25 MB is listed with no charge. A USB or CD up to 1 GB is listed at $10, with other applicable costs possible. Advance payment may be required. These are general request rules, not proof that one electronic booking image will cost a set amount, so ask for an itemized estimate before work begins.
| Requested item or service | Published rule |
|---|---|
| Black-and-white page | $0.15 per page |
| Color page | $0.25 per page |
| Email under 25 MB | No charge listed |
| USB or CD up to 1 GB | $10 plus applicable costs |
| Search, review, or redaction | Actual qualified staff cost; short work may be waived |
The request should ask for an existing image in its maintained format. If the custodian cites a court order, expungement, confidentiality rule, or other exemption, request the legal basis and any separable booking information that remains public.
Forrest Mugshot Access Law
The Mississippi Public Records Act supplies the general path for inspecting or copying nonexempt public records. It does not mean every photo must remain online. Access to an agency file and publication on a web roster are separate questions.
Under the response rule in Miss. Code § 25-61-5, a public body that cannot produce records within one working day must provide a written explanation. Production generally must occur within seven working days unless the body's written procedures and the circumstances support more time. A response deadline is not a promise that an archived or redacted photo arrives at once.
The source review found no Forrest County written policy establishing a fixed online retention period or automatic removal rule for booking photographs. It also found no verified Mississippi anti-pay-to-remove statute suitable for a confident claim. Do not promise that all mugshots must be published, retained, or removed on demand.
Juvenile material, sealed or expunged matters, medical facts, protected victim information, security details, and records covered by a court order may be withheld or redacted. Ask for the specific legal basis and any public portion that can be separated from restricted content.
No Forrest Mugshot App
No official Forrest County sheriff mobile app with recent releases or booking photographs was verified. A generic vendor app, jail directory, or app for another similarly named county should not be treated as official. If an app appears later, trace it from the official county Sheriff page and check the publisher, update date, custody scope, release filter, and photo feature.
This negative finding prevents a false shortcut. The booking-specific records request is the known county route. An app screenshot without official provenance cannot establish that an image belongs to the correct Forrest County booking or remains current.
Note: Use only an app linked by the official Forrest County Sheriff after its publisher and photo or release functions are confirmed.
Forrest MDOC Photos Differ
The MDOC inmate search includes an offender photograph on its public detail for applicable state records. That image belongs to MDOC's identification record. It may differ from the county booking photo in date, appearance, crop, and source.
A county-only bond release may never create an MDOC record for that episode. Conversely, a Forrest County defendant committed to state prison may have both a county booking image and an MDOC image. Use the county booking number for the first and the MDOC number for the second. Do not substitute one while labeling it as the other.
The MDOC record's “Tentative Release Date” also does not prove actual discharge. An image confirms identity within that state record, not present custody status or the final release event.
Forrest Mugshot Retention Unknown
The Sheriff page describes JailTracker as a current-inmate list. No verified released tab, photo archive, 24-hour feed, 72-hour feed, refresh cadence, or post-release retention term was found. Once a name leaves the current display, the photo may stop being web-visible even though the agency still maintains the booking file.
The official current-roster landing page is captured below to identify the scope of the web route.

The captured page supports the current-inmate label, not a claim that released booking photographs remain searchable there.
Do not infer that a vanished photograph was erased from the official record. Ask the custodian whether the booking image exists and whether sealing, expungement, a court order, confidentiality law, or another exemption affects public access. The source office should explain any withheld part.
For a recent event, the Jail Releases: 24 Hours method shows how to request a dated release-log row. The photo request should remain tied to the named booking.
Forrest News Photo Snapshots
WDAM and verified Hattiesburg-area agency posts may preserve an agency-supplied image after a live roster changes. That publication can help identify the arresting agency, spelling, date, or case. It is only a snapshot of reporting at that time.
A news image does not prove current custody, acquittal, guilt, sentence, or release. Use its identifiers to return to the jail, court, MDOC, or VINE. The originating record provides the better chronology and the case disposition supplies legal context.
Commercial aggregators may omit corrections and later court actions. Treat them as unreliable categories, not confirmation sources.
Note: A dated news image can help locate identifiers, but the jail and court records establish release and disposition facts.
Match Forrest Mugshot Records
A photograph should be tied to an exact booking before it is treated as a Forrest County image. Match the full name, booking number, booking date, arresting agency, and case number. A date or name alone can point to an older arrest, another county, or a namesake. The booking sheet is the record that connects the image to the event.
Then add the release entry and court disposition. The release row shows when county custody ended, the recorded reason, and any receiving agency. The court file can explain a bond order, dismissal, plea, sentence, or later expungement. None of those facts can be read from a face alone.
When requesting the file, distinguish the original county booking photograph from a screen capture, court exhibit, MDOC identification photo, or agency press image. Ask for the original electronic image when public. This preserves source and avoids labeling a later state photo as the Forrest County booking photo.
Note: A mugshot identifies the booking record at one point in time; it does not establish the later custody or case result.
Expunged Forrest Photo Records
Miss. Code § 99-19-71 governs expungement in covered circumstances. Eligibility depends on the case, offense, history, disposition, and statutory terms. A court order can change what remains publicly accessible and requires custodians to act as the law directs.
If an arrest or case was expunged, contact the issuing court and each record custodian that holds related material. Do not assume that a missing web image proves expungement. Likewise, an old cached image does not override an official order. The county booking office, court, and MDOC each control their own records.
- Booking photograph
- An identification image made during booking, not a finding of guilt.
- Expungement
- A court process that restricts qualifying records under governing law.
- Redaction
- Removal of protected portions while public parts may be produced.
- Release record
- The event entry showing how and when a facility's custody ended.
Verify Forrest Mugshot Context
Pair the image with the booking number, release entry, and court case. The booking record establishes the source episode. The jail release row shows whether Forrest County custody ended and whether another agency received the person. The court docket explains bond, dismissal, sentence, probation, or another disposition.
A transfer to MDOC, USMS, another county, or ICE is not community release. Follow the receiving system. The home page provides the complete Forrest County released-inmate search and records path for resolving that chain.
